Starbucks Foundation Celebrates 15 Years of Empowering Youth Talent in Partnership with Glasswing

As part of its 15th anniversary in El Salvador, Starbucks is investing in the development of Salvadoran youth through a partnership with Glasswing International and the Museum of Art of El Salvador (MARTE). Through a Starbucks Foundation grant, youth will engage in artistic workshops while building socio-emotional skills and gaining training in employability and workforce competencies.

Located in San Salvador’s historic downtown, Casa Bou is not only the first Starbucks Community Store in Latin American, but also a space where creativity, learning, and cultural connection come together. Through a variety of activities, the program will directly engage more than 175 young participants.Participants will build skills in visual arts, design, and communication, while also developing socio-emotional competencies and practical tools for the workforce, including résumé preparation, financial planning, and digital skills for employability. The program goes beyond technical training, strengthening soft skills such as personal brand, creativity, and leadership. Starbucks partners will participate as volunteers to provide real world examples and their own personal experiences as inspiration for participants.

A Real Impact: Community, Culture, and Purpose

In partnership with MARTE, the program also includes an art and collaborative creation component. Professional artists will guide participants in developing artistic works that celebrate Salvadoran identity. These pieces will be exhibited both at Starbucks Casa Bou and in public spaces, turning youth talent into a visible experience for the community.

Each workshop and creative space offers youth an opportunity to explore their potential and envision new possibilities for the future.

For Glasswing, the initiative represents another step in strengthening communities through education, art, and life skills development. For Starbucks, it is a meaningful way to celebrate 15 years in El Salvador by investing in young people and their potential.

By combining creativity, education, and workforce preparation, the program will equip more than 175 young people with the skills and confidence they need to pursue new opportunities and shape their own futures.
