Youth share innovative ideas and community-based solutions at the Ideathon

Glasswing International and Citi Foundation organized a regional Ideathon with the objective of creating a space for youth to share innovative ideas and community-based solutions to local issues. The event, which was carried out in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago officially gave closure to the Nucleo Club program: Digital Inclusion and Innovation for Change, a regional initiative in which more than 1,300 youth have participated in 2022. During the event, youth worked on proposals and solutions to community needs, applying the knowledge and skills gained in the Core Club training, and focused on making them accessible to vulnerable populations. At the end of Ideathon, a panel of Citi volunteers and experts selected three ideas to be awarded $1,000 of seed capital each.

The Nucleo Club seeks to improve economic opportunities for youth ages 17 to 25 through digital inclusion, innovation, and training in social entrepreneurship with community-based innovation centers. Citi Foundation and Glasswing International have worked together for more than seven years impacting more than 9,000 youth from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras,  Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago.
