Glasswing students visit TelevisaUnivision studios

Glasswing students in Mexico City and the New York City area recently visited the studios of TelevisaUnivision, the leading Spanish-language media company. There, they learned about what goes on behind the scenes of their favorite television programs and radio stations.

In Mexico City, students from our Community Schools had the opportunity to watch several shows being filmed, including the variety program “Hoy” and the morning news. They also learned how different special effects are created—including masks and other character transformations—and met with actors they grew up watching.

In Teaneck, New Jersey, students enjoyed a day of hands-on experiences. They practiced their radio voices with La X 96.3. They learned how to mix with DJC-LO and DJ Tantrum, and they found out how the news gets made from executives and reporters, who generously took time to share their stories and advice. Some students even had the chance to sit in anchors’ chairs!

We’re deeply grateful to the TelevisaUnivision teams for giving the students such an unforgettable experience, on an international scale. Their mentorship helps young people discover what they’re capable of—and the limitless potential they have to achieve their dreams.

Special thanks to Celina Caprio, Daniel Carajal, Estefania Chavez, Lourdes Dussauge, Sophia Lazaridis, Pilar Ramos, Bill Tipacti, Adriana Vargas, Christian Villegas, and Roberto Yañez for making these events possible.

We are proud to be honoring TelevisaUnivision and Executive Chairman Alfonso de Angoitia at the Eleventh Annual Glasswing Gala, October 9 in New York City. To join us, please visit the link below.
