New York, October 10, 2025 – Over 500 philanthropists, leaders and changemakers came together at last night’s Eleventh Annual Glasswing Gala to raise $1.6 million for youth and communities in Latin America and New York City. TelevisaUnivision, the leading Spanish-language media company, and Executive Chairman Alfonso de Angoitia were honored at the gala for their dedication to civic participation; Donna Karan received the Glasswing Humanitarian Award in recognition of her commitment to service throughout her career as a fashion pioneer.
Gala Honoree TelevisaUnivision has long placed social impact at the heart of its mission, championing Hispanic communities and displaying a deep commitment to advancing financial empowerment, promoting access to reliable health information and encouraging civic participation. TelevisionUnivision and Glasswing have recently collaborated on several initiatives to promote community development and youth opportunities, including “Manos a la Obra,” a school-transformation project in Mexico City with over 80 volunteers, and studio visits for high school students in Mexico City and Teaneck, New Jersey, to introduce students to new career possibilities.
“At TelevisaUnivision, we believe in the power of storytelling and connection to change lives,” said Alfonso de Angoitia. “Partnering with Glasswing has enriched our work with communities, and we’ve seen how exchanging stories and dreams can expand worlds and create hope. Tonight’s gala was a collective commitment to building brighter futures, and I am honored to have been a part of it.”
Humanitarian Award recipient Donna Karan, founder of the brand Urban Zen, has shown a consistent dedication to unlocking opportunities for those in underserved communities and increasing access to support for mental health and well-being. She has been a steadfast champion of Glasswing since 2018 and has led the CFDA AIDS benefit, Kids for Kids Carnival for Pediatric AIDS and other philanthropic initiatives. She is on the Board of Directors of The Mental Health Coalition, a nonprofit founded by Kenneth Cole that is dedicated to ending the devastating stigma surrounding mental health. At last night’s gala, Donna Karan’s daughter, Gabby Karan de Felice, presented her with the Humanitarian Award.
“Glasswing’s mission resonates deeply with my own belief in the power of healing and compassion,” Donna Karan said. “Just as Urban Zen works to bring balance to body, mind and spirit, Glasswing builds holistic pathways for children and communities to thrive. To be honored tonight is a privilege, but the real honor is to stand alongside young people who remind us every day of our shared humanity and resilience.”
“Our mission is rooted in collaboration,” said Celina de Sola, President and Co-Founder of Glasswing. “We believe that the way to address violence, poverty and a lack of opportunities is by building ecosystems of support, transforming schools into centers of community, establishing trauma-informed environments and building pathways for young adults through community-based service learning. The gala makes that work possible. We are so grateful to everyone who came together last night with a shared purpose to foster hope and resilience together with young people and communities.”
The gala took place at Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York City during National Hispanic Heritage Month and on the eve of World Mental Health Day. Among the attendees were model and entrepreneur Valentina Ferrer; ballet dancer and actor Isaac Hernández; actress and activist Stephanie March; fashion designer Willy Chavarria; fashion stylist and creative director Bloody Osiris; internet personality Abelardo Campuzano; Trisha Gregory, Chief Brand Officer, Luxury Stores at Amazon; Shilpa Shah, Co-Founder of Cuyana; journalist and author Ana Patricia Candiani; and Egriselda López, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations. John Moore, Chair of the Glasswing Board and Head of Latin America and Chairman of Global Capital Markets, Americas at Morgan Stanley, was the evening’s dinner host. The gala was co-chaired by Carmen Busquets, entrepreneur and Founder of the Carmen Busquets Foundation; Valentina Ferrer; and Jana Pasquel de Shapiro, President of Munnu The Gem Palace North America.
