Girls Club: Where Girls Build Confidence and Their Future
Published on March 10, 2026 by Glasswing
In many communities across Latin America, girls and young women face challenges that can limit their opportunities. Glasswing’s Girls Club program seeks to respond to this reality by creating spaces where girls and young women strengthen their emotional well-being, develop life skills, and build a positive vision for their future.

Currently, Girls Clubs is implemented in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Colombia, and to date it has reached nearly 7,000 girls across the region through weekly sessions led by mentors and volunteers. Club curriculum includes emotional well-being, violence prevention, self-esteem, and life projects. As a result, 97% of participants report that the club strengthened their self-esteem, 80% reconsidered their dreams and goals, and 95% can identify actions to reduce gender-based violence in their environment.
Across the region, these clubs have become spaces where girls find support, build friendships, and develop the confidence needed to imagine and shape their future. Here are two such stories.

Panama: Strengthening Skills and Leadership
Last year in Panama, 50 participants from the communities of Ipetí–Emberá and San Miguelito focused on strengthening skills for their personal and emotional development.
Through workshops, creative activities, and discussion groups, participants explored topics such as recognizing emotions, building confidence, leadership, and decision-making. The process was made possible thanks to the commitment of 18 volunteers who accompanied each session and the support of Calvin Klein, whose backing helped continue expanding opportunities for girls in their communities.
Colombia: Learning, Sharing, and Growing Together
Since 2024, six clubs have been established in the municipalities of Bello and Cartagena in Colombia, supporting 84 girls and adolescents in their personal growth journey. For many participants, the club is the first space where they can openly discuss issues important for their safety and development.
María Salomé, one of the participants, shares how what she learned in the club has also impacted her family: “What I’ve learned in the Girls Club has also influenced my sisters. At home, I like telling them about some of the topics I’ve learned the most about, such as menstruation and how to better understand the menstrual cycle.” For her, the club has been a space where she can learn and express herself with greater confidence.
“Now I feel more confident to ask questions, share my doubts, and talk about these topics without feeling judged.”
Mentors have also played a key role in this process. Leisy, who has served as a mentor at an educational institution in Bello, describes it this way:

“Many people say it’s difficult to work with young people, but I believe that when you know how to listen to them, guide them, and support them, you can change their lives..”
Where New Possibilities Begin
The impact of the Girls Club extends beyond each session. Through an approach that also involves families and communities, the program promotes environments where girls can grow with confidence, support, and opportunities. When girls have access to safe spaces and supportive guidance, they build the confidence and skills needed to shape their own futures and contribute to their communities.
