Celina de Sola named to the inaugural 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy list of the 100 most influential leaders in philanthropy

The recognition highlights her humanitarian leadership as President and Co-Founder of Glasswing International

New York City, May 22, 2025 — TIME named Celina de Sola, the President and Co-Founder of the nonprofit organization Glasswing International, to the inaugural 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy, a list recognizing singular figures who are shaping the future of giving. The full list will appear in the June 9, 2025 issue of TIME, available on newsstands on Friday, May 30, and now at time.com/time100-philanthropy

Celina de Sola is a Salvadoran social entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in international development and humanitarian action. In 2007, she co-founded Glasswing, a nonprofit based in Central America that works with partners and communities to strengthen public systems through education, health and community-development programs. The organization operates in 14 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as in New York City.

“I’m so honored and grateful to be included in the 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy list. We strive for a world in which children feel safe and have opportunities to thrive. Every step we’ve taken towards this goal has been thanks to our amazing team, and the young people, families and supporters that we’ve had the privilege to work with since we launched Glasswing eighteen years ago,” Celina said.

Throughout her career, Celina has worked across the globe, leading humanitarian responses in conflict zones in Liberia, Chad, Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, as well as in emergency settings such as the post-tsunami recovery period in Indonesia. She has also served as technical staff and as a health interventionist for Latin American youth.

This recognition underscores her leadership at Glasswing, whose mission is to build a brighter future for communities across the Americas. The organization transforms existing public schools into safe community spaces that strengthen learning outcomes; trains frontline workers to radically expand access to mental health support; and increases economic opportunities for young people through vocational and entrepreneurship training, service learning and peer support networks. Glasswing has mobilized and invested more than $250 million across Latin America, the Caribbean and New York City, impacting the lives of more than 7.8 million people.
