Meet Ana Camila

Ana Camila

My name is Ana Camila and I am 17 years old. I am currently studying and in the process of being admitted to college. I also participate in the Finance Club, Speech Club, and Life Orientation Club.

Before the clubs, having a stable relationship with my mother was very difficult for me. I was embarrassed to bring up certain topics with her. In general, I was embarrassed to discuss taboo topics such as sex, sexual abuse, human trafficking, and more.

The clubs have provided me with an interactive, non-judgemental environment that is open to exchanging opinions. I feel it is my safe place.

Today I feel more secure and more confident. I feel that I have more knowledge and this makes me feel good. The clubs have helped me become more social, and they have helped me become more expressive. I’ve been able to improve my way of thinking and acting, too.

It has been a long process to become the person I am today, and I am grateful for all the support. Despite the difficulties, I have always done my best to attend the club sessions because they have helped me to become the person I am. My biggest dream is to study law and I am in the process of being admitted to the Central American University (UCA) and the National University of El Salvador.
