Emergency Medicine

Glasswing International has trained and certified approximately 22,000 doctors, nurses, first responders, and community members in a region afflicted by devastating numbers of trauma-related injuries and deaths as well as a high frequency of natural disasters. Courses include not only American Heart Association certifications (Glasswing is a certified AHA training center), but also other courses provided by the Red Cross, College of Surgeons (TEAM course), and other internationally-recognized institutions. More than $1 million of urgently needed medical equipment has been donated to public hospitals, clinics, and ambulances.

Currently we are working with Columbia University and several hospitals in the United States to design and implement protocols and a “best practices model” to be used throughout hospitals in El Salvador. All these efforts help to better manage injuries and illness as well as reduce the number of fatalities.
