Glasswing El Salvador
El Salvador is the smallest country in Latin America, and it is estimated that in 2020, 51.4% of the population lived in poverty. Because of this and the aftermath of over a decade of civil war post-war crime and delinquency, many have chosen to migrate.
Families, as well as unaccompanied children and youth, attempt to flee to neighboring countries or the United States in hopes of a brighter future. Nearly a third of young people in El Salvador neither work nor attend school, largely the result of limited formal employment opportunities and a public education system that is unprepared to meet the needs of its children and youth.
Glasswing El Salvador implements a range of education, health, employability & entrepreneurship, and public space programs, collaborating with communities to build on their existing capacity, strengths, and assets.
