Peer mentoring program launches in NYC
Social isolation drives trauma, especially in migrant youth. In an effort to create more virtual communities for students, Glasswing New York City has officially launched our Peer Mentoring program! Two of our partner schools, Manhattan Bridges High School and International High School at Union Square, match recently arrived students with senior class student mentors for weekly meetings. In the last week of January, mentors and mentees received their “learning kits,” complete with program manuals and activities, school supplies, tablets, and noise-cancelling headphones, preparing them to fully engage in a hands-on yet virtual program.
