Over 8,000 kids participate in third annual GenNow Fest!

More than 8,000 young people from 65 public schools in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras participated in Glasswing’s third annual Generation Now Festival in October, bringing the 2018 academic year to a close. The purpose of the event was to inspire and empower youth to become agents of change within their communities. By working together and volunteering, specifically within their school’s communities, students and their mentors alike stimulate individual and collective development amongst each other and generate positive change within themselves, their schools, and their communities. Students participated in debate tournaments, science fairs, robotics competitions, spelling bee contests, singing and dancing contests, soccer tournaments, and leadership and entrepreneurship activities. The Generation Now movement is part of the Youth and Community Development Program implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Glasswing International as well as other partners and has been an initiative since 2016. Over the past three years, over 25,000 people have participated.
